Alterian secures 73% Global revenue growth as
demand for integrated marketing
increases
UK firm signs more
than 200 new customers and expands into new key
markets
LONDON, UK – June 03, 2009 – Bucking the
economic trend over the past twelve months, Alterian today announced revenue growth
of 73 percent for the year to 31st March 2009, with
particularly strong performances in the UK, Europe and Asia Pacific
and on-line marketing software.
Highlights for the year include:
- More than 200 new customers
signed including Jaguar Land Rover, Stephens, Inc. and
LendingTree.com
- 25 new channel partnerships
secured such as Targetbase Claydon Heeley and Departure
- Customer retention rates of
more than 90 per cent despite the troubled economy
- Profit before integration
costs increase of more than one-third (34 per cent) vs. last
year
- Agreements with major partners
such as infoGROUP and Acxiom extended and expanded, Acxiom
extension providing for global roll out of Alterian technology
announced separately today.

Growth strategies
Alterian is in a prime position to drive
further growth. Marketing is in the midst of an operational shift
as it moves from the one-way communication of the past to a model
more focused on customer engagement. No longer content with being
constantly bombarded by marketing campaigns, customers are now
demanding a two-way, multi-channel conversation with
marketers.
Anticipating this shift, a key strategic focus
for Alterian over the past year was to promote integrated marketing
solutions that enable customer engagement. The company broadened
its product range – including the acquisition of web content
management company Mediasurface - to form an integrated marketing
platform that underpins marketers’ activities in delivering
increasingly relevant and measurable communication to individual
customers and prospects across multiple channels including the
web.

Customer Base and Distribution

performance, Alterian has seen progress in all areas of the
business over the past year and significant momentum in terms of
new customer wins.
More than 200 new end user customers were
added, which included a cable TV operator, an investment bank,
several high street and online retailers and numerous local
authorities. Substantial progress was also seen in developing
Alterian’s channel worldwide with 25 new partners signed in the
period. This includes a new master reseller in India which will
promote Alterian technology in the region.
Alterian is widely accepted as a core offering
for database marketing services providers. A recent analysis of the
UK Database Marketing Services market published in May 2009 by
Forrester Research identified that seven of the top eight providers
have standardised on Alterian technology to provide advanced
marketing solutions. Alterian has a similar penetration of Database
Marketing Services providers in North America, with ten of the
twelve top providers identified by Forrester Research using
Alterian technology.
