3rd January 2008 – Immediacy,
part of the Mediasurface group (UK, AIM: MSR) and Europe’s leading
CMS provider, together with Fortune Cookie, one of the UK’s leading
digital agencies announced today a partnership to deliver
accessible content management.
Fortune Cookie puts usability by disabled
people at the heart of its design process, and has won more RNIB
awards for creating accessible web sites for its clients (which
include Legal & General, Kuoni and Diabetes UK) than any other
digital agency. The 1995 Disability Discrimination Act places
a legal duty on web site owners to ensure that disabled people can
use their web sites. Fortune Cookie sought a content
management solution for their clients that would enable them to
deliver and manage content to the highest standards of
accessibility. Last month’s launch of Immediacy WCMs 6.0
included specific features to help with accessibility, including a
built-in Compliance Checker to ensure that sites remain conformant
with international web accessibility guidelines and up-to-date with
key legislation and regulations. The accessibility features
in Immediacy WCMs 6.0 were a key factor in cementing the
partnership.
