Managing Content

Library services

In the Immediacy Content Management System (CMS), full audit trail information is stored in the system and all previous content versions are archived for future reference or roll-back. The system also has a Page Expiry capability which allows pages to be hidden from a website before a start date and after an end date.

Link Checker

The link checker report checks all links across the site, both to internal pages and to external web sites and reports any that are no longer valid. This makes it easy to spot any deleted or out of date links and quickly update the affected content.

Comprehensive web based administration

In the Immediacy Content Management System (CMS), all administration functions from setting up a new site to controlling scripting permissions to approval of pages are accessible through a browser based interface allowing administration from anywhere.

Fine grained administrative control

Administrators can set up user groups and users, and precisely define the functionality available to any user for any page. Users can be created inside or outside of groups, with different permissions in different settings. This provides extremely powerful and flexible site management.

Membership with password protected areas

The ability to password protect any part of the site is a standard feature in Immediacy. Password protecting a page or section is as simple as ticking a box. Built-in membership administration allows for an unlimited number of members with unique IDs.

Authentication

Immediacy has two standard authentication methods; a built-in users and groups database, or LDAP authentication. LDAP users are authenticated by their log-on to the operating system, and do not require an additional username or password. Logged-on LDAP users do not have to enter a separate username and password to authenticate themselves to the CMS.

If the built-in users and groups database is used then all users will be required to logon via username and password every time the CMS is used.

Workflow

Workflow and approval is built in for all site pages. Approval of a page may be achieved simply by any designated approver, or it may be by one or more specific individuals either in any order, or in a pre-determined order set by an administrator.

Email Notification

SMTP email notification throughout the content approval process is integrated into the system as a standard feature.
