Plugin Development

Immediacy plugins are esssentially ASP.NET controls. We've added a few optional additional features to plugins to make them more user friendly than standard .NET controls.

In Immediacy, ASP.NET server or user controls can be used seemlessly to access databases, XML webservices or any other functionality that is possible with ASP.NET. Off the shelf .NET controls can be used within Immediacy or bespoke plugins can be developed in any programming language supported by .NET.

An Immediacy extension to standard .NET controls allows developers to attach a graphical user interface (GUI) to a plugin. This interface can be presented to content authors in the Immediacy editor allowing developers to build advanced custom functionality that can be leveraged by non-technical authors.
