CMS Developer Training: 2 days

Who Should Attend

This course is ideally suited those experienced C#/.NET developers who wish to create their own customized plug-ins. Attendees will undertake a number of workshops of increasing complexity leading to the creation of a sample databound, templated plug-in.

Course Prerequisites

  • Experience of ASP.NET, C#, CSS, XHTML, JavaScript and SQLServer.
  • Attendees should also have template creation experience equivalent to having attended the Design Course.

Aims and Objectives

By the end of this course attendees will have an understanding of how to:

  • Create a Visual Studio project from an Immediacy site
  • Create a plugin based on a .NET User control
  • Create a plugin based on a .NET Server control
  • Create an HTML dialogue for use in the Editor
  • Create a Metadata type and dialogue
  • Use the support object
  • Interrogate the Immediacy Database
  • Create a Databound, Templated Control
  • Create a Manager Add-In.

This is a highly intensive course designed to give experienced developers sufficient grounding to be able to write their own plug-ins. It assumes existing competence in the areas of .NET and C# coding and the pace reflects this.

Please note: This course is scheduled to run on a regular basis. However, these courses will only go ahead if there are sufficient bookings two weeks prior to the start date to warrant its running. Any delegates booked on a course that is postponed will be offered alternative dates.
